I’m returning to ride once again in America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride — a 100-mile route around Lake Tahoe, CA in June — for this cause and really appreciate your support.
This year’s ride will be my fourth consecutive year riding in this event. Over the last three years, I rode with Team-in-Training’s (“TNT”) Los Angeles Cycling Team and raised a total of $7,860 for this cause. This year, I want to bring that all-time total to over $10,000! To reach this all-time goal, I need to raise $2,141 this year before I take the start line on June 7.
Now that I’ve moved back to Sacramento, I’ve joined the Sacramento TNT team for this ride. Besides the new team and training in a new city, I’m also formally a coach of the team. This will be a stretch for me since I’ve never coached officially before (I was an assistant coach for the LA team last year for AMBBR), so I hope I can help effectively in this capacity. I’m already a little hesitant around how strong a rider I will be compared to the rest of my pace group (I’ve been assigned the fast group), but I’m hoping I can leverage my experience from the past three years and praying my fitness is up to par. We’ll find out soon enough as training starts this Saturday!
I’m dedicating at least three days each week for four months to train. I’m blessed to be able to give this time and energy for this cause because I’ve experienced how important this support is for those impacted by blood cancer. Not only do your donations go to groundbreaking research (that literally keeps people alive) and support services for patients and families, those fighting blood cancer also see that there are people out there who care and are trying to help them in their fight.
Your generosity to support this cause is what inspires me through the tough moments during training and during the bike ride. You can send your tax-deductible donation by clicking here.
