Thank you for supporting my ride for Movember!

On a frigid Black Friday morning, I was standing with my bike and nursing a coffee in the parking lot of Temple Coffee in Fair Oaks with over $500 in donations from people who stepped up quickly to support me. Clearly, there are very generous people out there.

12 weeks down, 5 to go.

In the time it takes you to read this post, someone in the US will be told by their doctor that they have blood cancer. If you can spare some goodwill today, please visit my donation page to help.

    My donors are 💯

Last week, our Team-in-Training LA Cycle team kicked off a “100 donations in 100 hours” challenge and I finished in the top 3 of fundraising for my team for the week. This was unprecedented.

Last Saturday, we did our last group training ride for our century around Lake Tahoe for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Friends, I hope you'll pause your scrolling for a minute to read this story.
Last Saturday was our last big training ride for America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride on June 4 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We rode 70 miles and climbed over 5K from Folsom to Lotus, CA and back. In two weeks, we take the start line to ride 100 miles around Lake Tahoe as we raise funds for @llsusa. This is all about helping people fighting blood cancers.
    Matchy matchy.
📢 FUNDRAISING UPDATE! I’m excited that we’ve crossed $3,000 raised for @llsusa. We’re now at 63% of my goal of $5,000 before I take the start line in just 19 days.
Last weekend’s training ride was a big jump in our weekly miles. The idea behind the big increase was to help us get ready for cycling at elevation around Lake Tahoe. What we didn’t quite plan for was temperatures in excess of 90°F while riding.
With much of the team off to Santa Rosa this past weekend to participate in the Wine Country Century, coach Scott and I did a local ride from Penryn to Foresthill. It was a 55-mile training ride with about 5,400 feet of climbing. It was just over half the distance we’ll do around Lake Tahoe in about a month but with all the climbing. It was a good test of our legs and endurance as we enter the home stretch of training for America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride.
This week’s highlight reel of our training for America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride took us 69 miles from @ranchoendurancesports in Rancho Cordova all the way to the foothills around Rescue, CA. It turned out to be a pretty warm day, which we shouldn’t complain about, but warm weather does make the climbing more challenging.
Saturday’s training ride was a 67-mile course that started in Granite Bay, looped around Lincoln, took us up Baxter Grade (again) in Auburn and then back to our start. It was a beautiful, sunny day and we observed the purple flowers now emerging among the yellow and orange blooms this spring.
