This fall, I took the start line once again at the Bass Lake Powerhouse Double Century, a ride I wasn’t able to finish last year. Coming back was personal. After my “Did Not Finish” result in that event, I trained all year to return to that course, committed to cross both the start and finish lines, and to carry the spirit of #Ride4Riaan into one more season.
This time, I finished the ride.
Finishing was more than completing 200 miles in a single day. It was about honoring a promise I made last year to try again, to not give up, and to ride for something bigger than myself. It was to honor my promise to Riaan and to every child living with Cockayne syndrome whose time is heartbreakingly short.
The Ride: A Short Film
I made a short video to share what the day felt like: the effort, the quiet moments, and the purpose behind the miles.
The Final Numbers
Now that the dust has settled and everything is tallied, I’m grateful to share the final total for this year’s #Ride4Riaan effort:
$10,340.51 raised in 2025
And across the past several years of these rides, you have now contributed a combined:
$44,060 toward research, hope, and potential treatment options for children like Riaan.

When I first started #Ride4Riaan, I didn’t know what shape it would take. I only knew that riding for a purpose changed the way I trained, the way I showed up, and the way I understood community. This year reaffirmed that. Every message, every donation, and every moment of support carried me up climbs and through the hardest miles.
Donor Recognition
I want to take a moment to acknowledge everyone who contributed to this effort this year. Your support made this possible.

Closing the Chapter
As I shift into the offseason and begin rebuilding for the year ahead, I’m holding a lot of gratitude for the people who believed in this campaign, for the families living with rare disease who continue to show unimaginable strength, and for the chance to use cycling as a way to do some good in the world.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
Thank you for helping me finish the ride.
And thank you for supporting a cause that matters far beyond the miles.
